Abstract

This proof-of-concept focuses on showcasing enhanced programmability of service deployment and management. The demonstrated use case is that of an enhanced virtual content delivery (vCDN) service. The main enhancement here is the introduction of placement and scalability functionality which is specific to the vCDN service. Such functionality is injected dynamically into the MANO system.

PoC Project Goals

  • PoC Project Goal #1: The PoC will demonstrate that a MANO system can be dynamically extended with service-specific and element-specific management capabilities.
  • PoC Project Goal #2: The PoC will demonstrate that a service function chain (SFC) can be reconfigured on-demand. It will verify that VNFs can be added and removed dynamically.
